Hong Kong Disneyland has enough attractions to keep you busy all day. Do you want to know which are the best rides at Hong Kong Disneyland?
This post will cover all the details, so let’s get started!
1) Frozen Ever After

World of Frozen is the newest Disney zone addition to Hong Kong Disneyland, set to open in November 2023, while the park has been open to the public since 2005.
There are only two rides here: Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs is a roller coaster (it’s not the best one here; I’ll talk more about roller coasters later).
Frozen Ever After is the highlight in this area.
It’s a dark water ride featuring singing scenes from Frozen, perfect for fans of the film series.
It’s gentle and calm, except for a surprising twist near the end. Caution: you might get wet! Also, a boat photo is at the end, so if you remember, pose!
2) Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!

When it comes to the best rides at HK Disneyland, this one is almost always at the top.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle is where you aim to shoot the bots with the laser gun attached to the ride. The carriage makes its way to different rooms in the dark, and the goal is to shoot as many bots as you can.
The bots are everywhere, so it’s easy to shoot at them, but not all targets are worth the same points.
This is a fun, interactive activity to do with whoever you’re going with. You can even make it a friendly competition and see who scores the highest in the end!
This ride captures all your attention, and it’s over seemingly in the blink of an eye. I barely looked at my scoreboard during the ride because I’m always too distracted by shooting the bots. A few seconds of looking at the scoreboard takes away the time from potentially scoring higher points. Yes, I mean it when I say this ride hogs all my attention when I’m on it.
I go on this ride at least three to four times every time I visit this theme park because I have so much fun. It’s definitely my favourite ride.
3) Iron Man Experience

Have you ever watched a 4D movie?
This Disney attraction is precisely like that, but the duration is much shorter than a movie’s.
In the Iron Man Experience, we are Jarvis, Iron Man’s partner, who saves the world along with him. The Iron Man Experience is based in Hong Kong, but I noticed that some of the scenery doesn’t resemble the city (at least they tried to localize parts of it).
The effects feel realistic, as if we’re flying through the city with the 3D glasses and moving seats.
The ride is available in both English and Chinese. Robert Downey Jr. speaks in English, while Jarvis responds in Cantonese.
This experience feels more authentic because the attraction uses Robert Downey Jr.’s actual voice. Since he can’t speak Cantonese, it’s logical to keep his voice in English. Jarvis speaks Cantonese because, well, we’re in Hong Kong, and it’s the language used here.
This back-and-forth between languages can be confusing to hear, so thankfully, Disney provides both English and Chinese subtitles on screen, allowing people to follow what’s happening even if they don’t understand Cantonese.
Although I recommend this for most people, those who suffer from motion sickness may want to skip this ride.
4) Hyperspace Mountain

Among all the zones at Hong Kong Disneyland, Tomorrowland has the best rides. This is the third ride on this list in the same zone.
It’s one of the scariest rides on this list, as Hyperspace Mountain is a roller coaster in the dark. The twists and turns will have your heart pounding, so Hyperspace Mountain is one of the top choices to pump your adrenaline. It’s for people chasing after a thrilling ride.
5) ‘It’s a small world.’

This relaxing water ride is suitable for all ages. With bright lights and dolls from all kinds of cultures, it’s a small world that promotes diversity as the ride showcases different countries and continents.
This is the perfect ride to sit back, relax, and take out your camera to document the beautiful views. Whether on the left or right side of the boat, you won’t be able to capture all that eye candy.
It’s one of those rides where you ride ten times, and there are still details you will miss. It is, hands down, the prettiest and most colourful ride at Hong Kong Disneyland.
6) Jungle River Cruise

The Jungle River Cruise is an outdoor boat ride on which a tour guide steers the boat and introduces you to the jungle.
There is a choice of live commentary in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, so choose the language you are most comfortable with.
During the boat ride, you’ll see animal statues surrounding the area. Disney did a pretty good job of making the area look and feel natural. It does genuinely feel like you’re in the middle of a jungle instead of Hong Kong.
Be prepared to get a little wet from the mist and boat ride. It’s a way to cool off outdoors in the summer.
7) The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh has consistently been one of the top Disney attractions because it appeals to people of all ages. Some of these rides on this list are scary and/or in the dark. This ride is wholesome, so the line is full of families with newborns. It’s a highly family-friendly ride.
Those past age seven will likely find this ride boring, but people return for the nostalgia. When I was young, I also enjoyed the Winnie the Pooh storybooks and characters. Embarking on this ride takes me right back to the simpler times of my childhood. If I feel this way, many others do, which is why people line up for it, even though it’s not as exciting as most on this list.

8) Mystic Manor

Mystic Manor is a ride where the owner’s pet monkey, Albert, accidentally brings everything to life. This rotating carriage carries you to different rooms in a Victorian-era mansion where artifacts and paintings come to life.
Mystic Manor isn’t necessarily scary (it feels like a haunted house on the lighter side), but younger people might be startled by flashing lights, loud noises, sudden turns, and almost the entire ride being in the dark.
People always say Mystic Manor is one of the best rides at HK Disneyland.
This magnetic trackless ride is exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland, so you absolutely cannot miss it!
It also has the prettiest exterior of all the rides in the park, so you’ll see people taking pictures outside.
9) Mad Hatter Tea Cups

The Mad Hatter Tea Cup is in Fantasyland. This traditional ride is common in many theme parks, even at Disneyland. It’s a simple ride, but it is still beloved by park-goers. Although it’s not the most unique, it’s fun for children to spin around and around in colourful teacups.
The teacup ride is only 1-2 minutes long, but turn the wheel as fast as you can to rotate your teacup, and you will feel ready to get off by the time the ride is over. Be gentle with yourself if you get dizzy easily.
I remember eagerly turning the wheel inside the teacup, thinking I could handle it, but I almost lost my footing when I got off the ride. Luckily, I had someone to hold me up; otherwise, I would have plopped down on the ground like a sack of potatoes. It would have been a good laugh, though!
10) Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars

Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars is the biggest and most exciting ride in Disneyland Hong Kong. It’s an outdoor roller coaster that goes backward.
There aren’t many roller coasters in this theme park, so the two best ones are Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars and Hyperspace Mountain.
What’s the difference?
First off are the vibes they give off. Hyperspace Mountain has a futuristic, space-like vibe, while Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars has a wild west cowboy vibe.
Second, Hyperspace Mountain is an indoor ride, whereas Big Grizzly is an outdoor ride.
If roller coasters are your thing, go on both and compare the rides to see which one is more your alley. These two are popular and have long lines, so plan and check wait times.
11) Toy Soldier Parachute Drop

In addition to Tomorrowland, another top Disney zone for rides is Toy Story Land. The last few on the best HK Disneyland rides list are all in this zone.
Toy Soldier Parachute Drop is not for the faint of heart if you’re scared of heights. This ride will drop up and down suddenly and make your heart feel like it’s falling out of your chest.
This ride is designed for an adrenaline rush and feels like you’re free-falling from the sky with a parachute above your head.
What a suitable name for the ride.
12) RC Racer
The RC Racer is best described as the pirate ship ride in other theme parks. This ride goes back and forth a few times, and although it looks tame when you’re watching it in person or through a camera lens, it’s a totally different story when you’re on it!
Don’t overeat before this ride. Otherwise, you may throw up on other riders, which you don’t want to do!
13) Slinky Dog Spin

The Slinky Dog Spin is where the Toy Story character Slinky Dog runs around in circles, trying to chase its tail. This ride circles quickly at various speeds. It saves the best for last; the final few rounds are the fastest and will have you sliding over your seat.
This ride with the younger ones is fun because it’s exciting yet not too terrifying.
Bonus – Duffy and Friends Play House
People visiting Hong Kong Disneyland are more distracted by the rides, food, and shopping than by the character meet-and-greets. Still, Duffy and Friends Play House deserves its special section because it’s a popular Disney attraction here.
Like other Disney parks worldwide, Hong Kong Disneyland also offers meet-and-greets with Disney characters, but they’re usually held outdoors. Since HK is hot most of the year, these lines are pretty short.
Duffy and Friends Playhouse is a dedicated indoor area where you can meet Duffy and Friends. These characters include:

- Duffy (male bear)
- Shellie May (female bear)
- StellaLou (female purple rabbit)
- Linabell (female pink fox)
- Olu Mel (male green turtle)
- Gelatoni (male grey cat)
The last two times I visited Disneyland, the lines to meet these characters were 60-75 minutes long. That’s a longer wait time for most of the rides!
This is partly because the meet-and-greet is indoors, so waiting that long is bearable. The cool temperature does make a difference.
(I wonder if the Disney staff inside the character suits like Goofy and Mickey Mouse are jealous of their coworkers in this area. They’re all inside a character suit anyway, so wouldn’t people prefer to be in a nice air-conditioned room? I know I would.)
Also, in Asia, Duffy Bear and Friends are extremely popular, especially Linabell and Stellalou, so people understandably want to say hello, take pictures, and get their autographs.
Final Thoughts – Best HK Disneyland Rides
It’s no surprise that Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the most popular day trips in Hong Kong.
With these best HK Disneyland rides, coming to this theme park will certainly keep you busy the whole day.
Depending on what day and time you come, there will be longer queues for Disney attractions. Download the Disney app on your phone during your time in the park. This app provides directions and an estimated wait time for rides and attractions.
Check the app throughout the day, yase the line won’t always be as long for each ride. Plan wisely and try to visit Disneyland when it’s less crowded; then, you can ride each attraction multiple times!
